A topic that seems to come up pretty often on CrossFit message boards is gear - what people like to wear during workouts. Here are some of my favorites!
Shoes
For the past two years, I’ve worked out almost exclusively in Nike Free TR’s. I like them so much that I own five pairs of them because I’m scared that they will stop making them.

While they’re not great for long distance running (a 10K is about as far as I would want to run in these), they’re lightweight, comfortable, and the flexibility is really great for Crossfit-style/Cross-training workouts. I have amazingly flat feet and the Free’s are some of the only shoes that I can wear while working out without experiencing massive foot fatigue.
Shirts
It seems crazy to say that anyone pretty much only works out in one kind of shirt, but I find myself wearing Nike Legend t-shirts at least 90% of the time that I’m in the gym. They’re lightweight, deal with sweat incredibly well, and you can often find them on sale for less than $15!
Word of warning, they run HUGE, so you always have to buy them a full size smaller than you would normally wear. I actually don’t think any guy under 5’4” would even be able to wear these without swimming in them.

If I’m not wearing a Nike Legend shirt, I’ll wear an Under Armour Charged Cotton shirt (which run true to size). I don’t feel like they’re as durable or lightweight as the Legends, but I really like them too.
Shorts
In terms of shorts, I’m not married to one brand or style. Though I always wear Nike or Under Armour shorts of various styles depending on the workout that’s coming up that day, I wear Nike Pro Combat compression shorts during workouts almost every day. I like that they’re more lightweight than Under Armour compression shorts, yet still can take a ton of abuse. If you haven’t made the switch to wearing compression shorts during workouts, I highly suggest it!
